Home page layout design 01

Note: This is not final artwork. ;-)

This is a long page, so scroll down to see all the info.

First, I want to acquaint you to the capabilities of the technology and the current design styles. We are not thinking in terms of a old-fashioned website, where all the user does is click links to navigate with pages that load only on click . We are designing with the smart phone and tablet in mind and adapting the desktop site to the behaviors of the users of these other devices.

Most importantly, the ability to swipe on the phone and tablet has led to desktop design also being scrollable, so “pages”, or different “page designs” are loaded on scroll. Paramount importance is giving to designing the desktop website so that it translates well to mobil devices.

In the image to the right we see my design for the first view of the homepage, Notice the header for this view. Also, notice “home” indicating where the navigation would be positioned.
